Barn & Museum

Pony Express

On April 3, 1860, Johnny Fry, the first westbound Pony Express rider, left St. Joseph, Missouri to begin the mail relay to Sacramento, California.

Barn & Museum

Our barn, built in 1859-60, is the only original Pony Express barn on its original site. The barn was an automotive shop and a meat market before becoming established as a museum.
